LIMA - The Allen Lima Leadership Class of 2015 will award two $500 Allen County Leader scholarships to Allen County graduating seniors this spring. Creating the scholarship program was the group’s class project, and is one of the many ways ALL classes continue to give back to their community. To be eligible, a student must be an Allen County senior graduating from high school who is also a graduate of the Allen Lima Youth Leadership program. The scholarship is for expenses related to two or four year-college, military, vocational, or trade training. Deadline to apply is April 7 and the scholarships will be awarded in May. Information about the scholarship will be sent this week to high school guidance counselors. To apply for the program, download the application found below. This is the second year the ALL Class of 2015 is awarding the scholarships. In the fall of 2015, the class held a raffle with $100 tickets and a $5,000 prize to begin fundraising for the scholarship. Last year, the class awarded two $500 scholarships. “The class believes strongly in the youth of our community,” Executive Director Heather Rutz said. “They want to honor the commitment of our high school youth in our ALL Youth program and the achievements of our developing leaders.” Allen Lima Leadership (ALL) is a county-wide leadership program that develops adult and youth leaders for our community.
